Periwinkle Art Studio was opened in late 2014 by mixed media artist Jennifer Evans. It is her strongly-held belief that art provides benefits for all of us, beyond being a mere hobby. Creativity is easily accessible, and there is a never-ending well inside all of us. Art brings joy, expresses emotion, offers brain boosting benefits, and a host of other positive results -- and it's FUN!

Jennifer is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism/Advertising. She has also studied visual communication and sociology. Throughout her career she has worked as a graphic designer, magazine publisher, art director and marketing/PR professional.



After years of designing on the computer, Jennifer picked up a paintbrush after a long hiatus to create holiday gifts for friends. She found that this process of making art had been missing from her life, and she launched on a tour of mixed media exploration. She uses pen and ink, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic and collage. She also creates jewelry with gemstones, crystal beads and repurposed vintage items.

She loves sharing the creative process with budding artists of all ages.
