About the event
Learn three different ways to "study" a favorite flower. We'll start with ink drawings to study the leaves, stems and buds. Then we'll move on to capture the flower in a watercolor sketch. The final project will use acrylic to layer depth of color. Work on heavyweight paper, whatever size you choose. Finished piece can be matted and framed to your liking.
Supplies List:
• Single flower as reference (Note: Roses are not recommended for this project as they are difficult even for an experienced artist. Choose sunflowers, daisies, coneflowers, snapdragons, etc.)
• Watercolor Paper (9"x12" cold press 140 lb. Watercolor paper)
• Watercolor Paint (your favorite set)
• Acrylic Paint
• Paintbrushes
• Waterproof ink fine-tip marker (Sharpie or Micron works well)
• Water for rinsing brushes
• Paper towel or rag for blotting brushes
Optional Supplies:
• Watercolor pencils
• Reference photo of your flower, showing multiple blooms
