Color-Blocked Orchid

Sketch and paint an exotic orchid with background color-blocking. Then, use pencils and/or pastels to vary the depth of color and add fine details. For this class, it's recommended to work on canvas or a wood block.  

Supplies List:

• Substrate of Choice: (sample shown is 10"x10" Wood Panel)

• Acrylic Paint or Gouache: violet, magenta, lilac, green, navy blue and white

• Watercolor/water-soluble pencils and/or pastels

• Lead pencil or China marker

• Paintbrushes

• Water for rinsing brush

• Paper towel or rag for blotting brush
