Faded Beauty

Learn to paint loose, abstract botanicals using watercolor (or gouache). Layer color (wet over dry) and blend color (wet into wet) to achieve the look of dried seed pods, faded blooms, and grasses. This class will cover three subjects: an abstract floral, eucalyptus leaves, and grasses/seed pods. Finished art can be framed or fashioned into greeting cards.

Supplies List:

• Watercolor Paper (5"x7" or 6"x9" cold press 140 lb.; three sheets)

• Watercolor Paint or Gouache to mix the following colors: Payne's Gray, Yellow Ochre, Magenta and a neutral Brown

• Watercolor paintbrushes: #10 or #12 round and fine detail brush

• Water for rinsing brushes 

• Paper towel or rag for blotting brushes
