Kids Create: Watercolor Resist

Most kids have painted with a basic set of watercolor paints. We will be using artist quality watercolors, brushes and cold pressed paper. The goals of this class: 1.) to teach kids how to approach watercolors to gain vibrant, "wet-into-wet" colors and 2.) how to use negative space by masking off areas of white. Participants will experiment with a practice sheet first, then paint a larger format creation of their choice on large watercolor paper. Once all the watercolor dries, they will peel back the mask to reveal unique, organic white lines.

Designed for ages 8-14; $20/session. Space is limited to 8 participants.
