'Paint With Periwinkle' Spring Art Retreat

Immerse yourself in creativity with our very first art retreat! All levels of experience welcome as we explore painting with mixed media techniques. Studio sessions are interspersed with gallery visits and artist chats. Relax at the end of each day with dinner at the retreat residence and sharing circle/journaling time.

Art sessions will be located in Jennifer's studio, with access to all professional supplies: Golden and Liquitex acrylic paints, watercolor paints, brushes, stencils, collage ephemera, inks, mediums, pastels, colored pencils, heavyweight paper and a selection of canvases. You will have the opportunity to try several techniques and decide on your main project (whether that's a series of small pieces or one large piece) in the subject matter of your choice. Jennifer's concentration is florals and abstracts in a mixed media style. There will be magazines and art books on hand for perusal.

Sunday, May 15

--Breakfast; depart residence by 10 a.m.

--*Optional 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Periwinkle Art Studio work session / drop-in to pick up any pieces that needed overnight drying time or packing/shipping

The spring art retreat offers an opportunity to recharge yourself, ignite your creative spark, meet new friends and try a variety of art techniques/supplies to get you on a path to your very best art. 

Your registration includes:

--All art instruction and professional supplies to create your projects

--Overnight accommodations for 3 nights (queen bed; single occupancy at private residence)

--All meals (3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, welcome reception with drinks/hearty appetizers and snacks)

--Admission fee to Racine Art Museum; studio and gallery visits

--Goody bag of art supplies and journal/sketchbook to keep

Space is extremely limited! Retreat is limited to 4 guests for the Racine residence -- there is only ONE SPOT remaining. However, an additional 4 artists can attend without overnight accommodations. A la carte pricing includes all items listed EXCEPT for sleeping arrangements. (Doubletree by Hilton Racine Harbourwalk is about a mile away from the residence, or Kenosha has several hotel options). About the residence: the historic home in Racine features 4 bedrooms with queen beds (one room, the master suite, has 2 queen beds in case anyone would like to share a room -- otherwise, they will be single occupancy for 4 attendees). There are 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, sitting areas and deck/patio. Many area attractions including the Racine Zoo and marina are within a few blocks, and it's a few miles from 16th Street Studios.

*No (non-registered) family members or pets allowed at art sessions or overnight residence.
